Photography for Hotels That Have Not Opened Yet
Launch, press and OTA imagery produced in the narrow window between handover and first arrival.
01 — The Approach
The weeks before a hotel opens are the least forgiving period in its entire life, and the point at which it most needs pictures. Press deadlines close before the doors do. OTA listings need images to go live. Sales teams are selling a property no one has seen. JohnsEye works inside that window — photographing spaces that are finished enough to be beautiful and honest enough to be accurate, while trades, stylists and commissioning engineers are often still on site. It requires a different temperament from a live-property shoot: patience with moving timelines, an eye for what is genuinely ready, and the judgement to know which frame will hold up once the property is complete. We plan against the handover programme rather than a fixed calendar, and deliver assets sequenced to the launch, not to the shoot.

02 — Why JohnsEye
Why launch teams bring us in early.
Programme Literacy
We read handover schedules the way we read light. Shoot dates are set against realistic completion, then held loosely enough to move with the site.
Working Around Trades
Snagging crews, stylists and commissioning engineers are usually still present. We sequence around them rather than asking a live site to stop.
Judgement on Readiness
Knowing which space is genuinely photographable today — and which will only embarrass the brand — saves more time than any amount of retouching.
Launch-Speed Delivery
Press selects can be turned around within days of the shoot, with the full library following once the campaign deadline is safe.
Discretion Before Reveal
Unfinished spaces, embargoed designs and confidential brand direction stay confidential until you choose to release them.
Full-Service Delivery
Styling coordination, permits, shoot, retouch and channel-specific exports handled as a single commission.
03 — The Process
Five stages, mapped to your launch programme.
- 01
Discovery Call
We align on the opening date, the press and OTA deadlines behind it, and which spaces the launch narrative depends on.
- 02
Site Recce & Shot List
A walkthrough against the completion programme, marking what will be ready, what needs styling, and what to defer.
- 03
Production Day(s)
Shooting proceeds room by room as spaces are released, working quietly alongside trades and styling teams.
- 04
Curation & Retouching
A launch edit first for press and OTA, then the full library — retouched to remove construction residue, never to fake a finish.
- 05
Delivery
Phased delivery keyed to your launch calendar, in every format the campaign, OTA and press channels require.

Pre-opening photography, answered.
The property will only open once. The imagery that introduces it should be finished before the doors are.
